In the quest for quieter PC operation, thousands have turned to purchasing specialized products, in order to decrease the decibel level of their machines. In like fashion, many companies are now producing these specialized products to meet this ever-increasing demand. The AcoustiFan™ is one such product, made by QuietPC and designed with the intent to accommodate both the need for adequate cooling as well as the desire for quietness of operation.

QuietPC, a company that specializes in reducing PC noise at the component level, makes the AcoustiFan™ product. The AcoustiFan™ is currently available in 3 popular sizes:
· 80mm x 80mm x 25mm
· 92mm x 92mm x 25mm
· 120mm x 120mm x 25mm
All have variable rpm speeds and are designed to operate in a "smart" fashion, thanks to a thermal sensor (thermistor) and resistor. Now there is also a new 120mm edition with a fixed rpm rate, designed for the purpose of controlled fan speed by an external source, like the rheostat fan controllers that are so popular nowadays. Yet this review shall specifically concern the variable speed variety, and in particular, the 80mm iteration.
